Coco Chanel famously layered pearls with casual fashion, making them effortlessly chic and wearable every day. More recently, pearls became a symbol of unity and empowerment during the 2021 Presidential Inauguration, when Vice President Kamala Harris wore her signature pearl necklace, inspiring women across the country to wear pearls in celebration of the first female vice president-elect.
